Deaf Music - Dance Like No One's Watching

We attended the Deafness Forum Summit in Canberra earlier this year.

We were lucky enough to hear Li Cunxin, author of 'Mao's Last Dancer', give a truly inspirational speech.

He spoke of the trials and tribulations of growing up in poverty-stricken China and the obstacles he overcame to become one of the world's best dancers.

He then introduced his daughter, Sophie, an 18-year-old HSC student who, like her father, is a talented and passionate dancer. Sophie has had to overcome her own obstacles in life.

Sophie's Deaf.

Everyone has the ability to feel the music.

All you need is soul.
